Questions about H1B salaries

What are DOL wage levels?

When an employer files an H1B petition, the U.S. Department of Labor assigns one of four wage levels based on the job’s required experience, education, and responsibility. Level I is entry-level work under close supervision, Level II is qualified with some experience, Level III is experienced and independent, and Level IV is senior - fully competent experts who lead or supervise. Higher levels require higher minimum pay.

Is the LCA wage the same as total compensation?

No. The wage on a Labor Condition Application is the minimum salary an employer legally attests to pay. It does not include equity, bonuses, or other compensation, so actual total pay - especially at large tech companies - is frequently higher than the figure shown here.

How accurate is this H1B salary data?

Every figure comes from certified H1B Labor Condition Applications publicly disclosed by the U.S. Department of Labor. This page covers 199,155 real filings from FY2026 (Oct 2025 - Mar 2026). These are government records, not survey estimates or self-reported numbers.

Which companies sponsor the most H1B workers?

By volume, the largest H1B sponsors are major tech and consulting firms - Amazon, EY (Ernst & Young), Apple lead the list. The highest-paying sponsors are typically frontier AI labs and quant firms that pay well above the national median of $130,000.
